Website colour schemes 'have impact on visitors'
Date: Tuesday 6th October 2009

Firms should attempt to use colour effectively to maximise the positive impacts of their business websites, it has been suggested.
Writing for Drop Ship News, Amanda Brooke claimed that colour codes have psychological importance for firms seeking to drive revenue, with different shades having "definite effects" on the emotions and perceptions of shoppers.
She claimed that colour can be used to play on website visitors' feelings, evoking memories that subconsciously attract individuals to the products displayed.
Ms Brooke commented: "Regardless of whether visitors to your website are aware of it or not, they will make assumptions about quality, value, reliability, and the nature of your products, based on the colours you have used in your site design."
She urged marketers to take a look at their website and think about the possible messages its design and colour scheme offer.
"Is your site aesthetically pleasing, or is it a jarring mish-mash of colours that will send visitors somewhere else?" she questioned.
Last week, John Abbot, founder and chief analyst with The 451 Group, reported that firms which invest in
web hosting services benefit from great flexibility and control over their online marketing platforms.
