SMBs to spend £8.74 billion on managed hosting
Date: Tuesday 25th August 2009

Small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) are set to spend £8.74 billion on managed hosting services by the end of 2009, according to new research.
This figure amounts to a projected growth of 9.2 per cent when compared to figures from 2008.
The research, which was conducted by Techaisle, also showed that spending in 2010 would grow by an additional 9.7 per cent.
Anurag Agrawall at Techaisle said: "SMBs are now looking beyond infrastructure investments as their respective countries slowly emerge from the global downturn.
"Not surprisingly SMB managed services spend represents a 46 percent share of the total managed services spend."
The study excluded money spent on email and
web hosting, co location and software as a service.
Recently, a study by IDC showed that data storage demand is set to grow massively in the near future, and could double every 18 months.
The firm said 487 billion gigabytes of data were currently being held on servers around the globe.
