Firms 'can use websites to boost business'
Date: Tuesday 16th December 2008

Businesses can boost their fortunes during the credit crunch by making the most of their websites, it has been claimed.
According to Webbed Marketing, the e-commerce route could prove to be a successful one for firms.
Factors such as educating consumers about products and tailoring messages for particular groups should be considered when using virtual
web hosting to sell items.
The company added: "Buyers are looking online for products and services and businesses should try to reach them where they are looking. Websites should be considered with a critical and objective eye."
It is claimed this can be achieved through adjusting online descriptions and ensuring the checkout process has the fewest number of clicks possible before the consumer ultimately purchases the item.
Meanwhile,
web hosting firms were recently urged to employ strict security methods in order to avoid attacks from cybercriminals, who install Trojans through exploiting a function in Flash ActionScript which allows a file to interact with its hosted webpage.
