Shared web hosting 'more affordable for smaller firms'

Shared web hosting can be a really affordable option for a small firm, it is claimed.
Industry commentator Christine Anderssen, writing for the online advice resource WebSiteHosting, explains that many people decide to use shared hosting as it is usually cheaper than a dedicated server.
"Shared hosting is also good for web hosting companies," she asserts.
"It can host hundreds of small and medium-sized websites on a single server. This reduces the installation and maintenance costs," Ms Anderssen continues.
However, she warns that businesses should not simply look for the cheapest web hosting option but for the provider which can best meet their needs.
Earlier this week, advice website YourHostingOptions discussed the merits of a shared hosting service compared to a dedicated server.
It stated that shared hosting is a popular choice for many because it is "extremely affordable".
However, it noted that a dedicated server does offer greater levels of flexibility, control and stability.
