Shared hosting 'inexpensive and trouble free'
Date: Thursday 20th November 2008
Writing for lifeiscolourful.com, Sarah Scrafford praised
shared hosting for being "inexpensive and relatively trouble free" and suited to people who are "high on enthusiasm and low on cash".
But she also gave advice on finding a good
shared hosting provider, such as avoiding resellers as it is not possible to know from whom they rent their servers.
Users were also told never to pay fees upfront in case it becomes necessary to change hosts.
Checks for blacklisted IP addresses should also be made, as other site owners may have had the address added to spam lists if they deal in areas such as pornography.
Advice on selecting a website hosting server has also been given by Joanna Gadel on DomainInformer.
She told users to assess such factors as market reputation, 24/7 support service and the cost of their deals.
Reliability is also an issue as business documents would be stored in the hosts' databases.
