Report: Slow speeds dissatisfy broadband users

New research has revealed that the speed of broadband is the most common cause of dissatisfaction among web users.

People who are setting up a web site using a hosting provider may find this information useful to think about how they can make their site quick to use.

The study conducted by Ofcom found that people who lived in London received the fastest average speeds, with those in the north-east, Wales and Scotland receiving the lowest.

It also showed that during 17:00 GMT and 18:00 GMT on Sundays, internet use was at the highest which meant that speeds across the UK were slowed down.

The majority of consumers (91 per cent) said speed was an important factor to consider when buying a new package from a broadband provider.
