Over a third of companies 'to boost marketing budgets'

Friday 14th August 2009

Around a third of companies across the UK are planning to increase their marketing budgets, it has been revealed.

YouGov's latest research has revealed that 38 per cent of business owners are planning to up their spend on promotions, which may see many to turn to email marketing in the future.

According to Hewlett Packard's Officejet brand manager, Beth de Avila, the results were evidence that firms are not "panicking" over their promotions during the current economic climate.

She added: "Previous recessions have shown that those businesses that market themselves well during fallow periods are significantly better positioned when the good times return."

Econsultancy and Clash-Media recently published a joint report that revealed email marketing is one of the most popular methods of online lead generation currently used in the UK.
