Online marketing 'can attract repeat business'

Internet and
email marketing can be used to good effect in the travel industry, it has been suggested.
According to the NEXTgen Traveler 2008 study, which looked into the types of consumers interested in online marketing within the holiday sector, online techniques can help customer retention.
The research found many of the e-commerce users questioned also had social networking accounts for websites such as MySpace, regularly communicated through the internet and also connected with media via the web.
As a result the work commented consumers could be targeted through the availability of options such as e-newsletters.
The study stated
email marketing could "possibly always be an effective way to increase conversions and encourage repeat customers".
It is also claimed within the report a company can reach a wide spectrum of consumers for "mere pennies" by using online methods.
Earlier this week, research published by MarketingSherpa claimed
email marketing is enjoying a boost during the economic downturn.
