Monday 'the best day for html email newsletters'

Individuals working in the
email marketing sector may want to kick off their campaigns on a Monday, a new report suggested.
Open and click rates are their highest on the first working day of the week, the survey by MailerMailer found.
The
Email Marketing Metrics Report also noted that emails with subject lines shorter than 35 characters were opened more than emails with longer subject lines.
Another way to entice would-be customers and other consumers to open
html email newsletters is to advertise the benefits of subscribing to an
email marketing mailing list via a social networking site.
"For example, you could post an update on Facebook or Twitter urging your audience to subscribe and check out your latest newsletter," the report stated.
It added that
email marketing professionals should include what unique value is being provided and a blurb about the special content of
html email newsletters.
Email marketing is one of those most effective tools in a marketing campaign, the Forbes Ad Effectiveness Survey showed.
Pay-per-click tactics and search engine optimisation were also important to the success of marketing campaigns, it found.
