Mobile consumers 'may become email marketing targets'
Thursday 28th January 2010
Users of the new Apple iPad could become ideal email marketing targets, it has been suggested.
Launched yesterday, the touch-screen laptop-turned-iPhone is set to offer consumers" a better email experience", one expert has claimed.
Writing for PC World, IT expert Michael J Miller said the multi-pane view, which previews emails, is as effective as on a laptop, with the added advantage of greater mobility.
He said that although writing emails will still be easier where the user has access to a full keyboard, the iPad will be great for readers.
Mr Miller added that the device could be "particularly important" for handling mail, noting that the iWork application should allow users to consume and lightly edit any attachments.
Earlier this week, security firm Symantec claimed that business users need email to work reliably and efficiently at all times.
