Internet 'ray of light' during economic downturn
Date: Friday 12th December 2008

The internet could help businesses survive the current financial difficulties as it allows them to operate on a larger scale than ever before, one expert states.
Online advertising will continue to grow as traditional channels are abandoned and marketing focuses on the internet, explains Mike Zapolin, a domain name entrepreneur.
Firms should see the economic downturn as an opportunity, he tells Globes.
"It's important that people neither panic from the recession nor make the same mistakes as in the previous crisis and believe that nothing will work," he comments.
Areas in which there is still profit to be made, such as
domain name consultancy and
email marketing, should be focused on, Mr Zapolin suggests.
He also explains that the gap between the amount of content consumed online and how much money is spent on online advertising will narrow.
This could present opportunities for growth through
email marketing and
html email newsletters.
Several factors should be considered necessary when choosing a domain name and
web hosting provider, it was stated this week.
Those setting up a website need a dependable
domain name consultancy, said Erik Eckel, president of two technology consulting firms.
