Expert highlights video and social media as email marketing trends

Firms are increasingly seeking to combine their use of email marketing with other emerging channels, it has been claimed.
According to Simon Grabowski, the founder online agency Implix, the use of social media and video content is being viewed as adding value to email marketing campaigns.
He told BizReport.com that many growing firms are "jumping in" to use social networking sites alongside email in particular.
Mr Grabowski commented: "Email marketers are Tweeting status update and adding social 'friends/followers' into their email lists."
He added that email is "deeply embedded in the consumer" and there is nothing that can replace it.
"Everyone sends email, whether business or personal. It is an easy way to stay in touch and I think email isn't going anywhere," he stated.
According to Global Gold's Debra Hastings-Henry, email marketing and HTML email newsletters are particularly popular among growing businesses.
