Email 'set internet marketing rolling'
Date: Monday 28th September 2009
Businesses have upped their spend on online promotions due to the early success of
email marketing, according to an expert.
Writing on advice website Fresh Business Thinking, Francesca James claimed that email was the channel that started the "internet marketing ball rolling", adding that it "hasn't stopped since".
In her column, she added that those who have not yet used the channel now often see the channel as "the future" of their needs.
She explained: "Fast forward to today and almost every business, from small to medium sized enterprises to large corporates, has some sort of a web presence.
"It's a key, if not the most important strand to any business's marketing strategy."
Econsultancy recently published a report that revealed the UK market for email promotions is set to grow by 15 per cent over this year.
The market grew by the same amount during 2008, despite the difficult economic conditions.
