Email 'no longer an alien concept'

Email web hosting is "no longer an alien concept", as most companies are now aware of its advantages, it has been claimed.
According to Viploan, a large majority of business communications now happen through email services and web hosting remains "perhaps the best" way to cope with this emerging trend.
The firm said: "Email web hosting services make the concerned individual connected to employees within your office, in addition to with clients that have need of specific updates from you."
Through this channel, business owners are also able to notify employees of any important changes without delay, Viploan added.
However, Simon Bird, technical director at dotCommerce, recently claimed that bombarding customers with blanket emails can be counterproductive.
He said that while email marketing can be a useful tool, the relatively low cost of sending a bulk mail shot means the medium can easily be overused.
