Email marketers must take more care over images

Email marketing professionals must ensure any images they include in promotional messages can be viewed by all readers, it has been claimed.

Industry commentator Jeanne Jennings said that image blocking continues to be a major issue for the industry, and one that can lead to a loss of subscriber loyalty.

Writing for ClickZ, she said it is a surprise that so many businesses fail to ensure their messages are useful when images are off.

"If you don't know what your email messages look like with images blocked, find out," Ms Jennings claimed.

"Small, inexpensive changes to the way your email messages are designed and coded can have a huge impact on your results when images are blocked - and even when they aren't."

Used successfully, email marketing materials can be used to attract and redirect customers, Simms Jenkins told ClickZ recently.
