Websites 'crucial for business marketing'
Date: Thursday 8th October 2009

UK firms must develop their website if they wish to successfully engage with their market audience, one business expert has claimed.
Speaking to the BBC, Ganesh Selvarajah of Business Link said firms must look to improve their web offering as they bid to create new contacts and client relationships.
He claimed that all advertising and marketing must be targeted at the correct audience in order to maximise the value of such investments, and a company website plays a crucial part in this task.
"Work out what it is that makes you different from your competitors and make sure that this 'unique selling point' is clear on your homepage," Mr Selvarajah noted.
He suggested including a number of case study examples of work that has been done before, ideally with quotes from clients recommending the products and services on offer.
Meanwhile, internet expert Brandon Mendelson recently told social media guide Mashable that businesses can build public trust by choosing the most suitable domain name available to them.
He suggested that firms should attempt to use their own company name as part of their domain.
