Shorter domain names 'boosts online brand'

Friday 2nd July 2010

An online business has purchased a new domain name to make it easier for consumers to locate and access its site.

The owners of ILoveFreeThings.com have purchased the much more concise ILFT.com to support the company's web-based activities.

Earlier this week, Merinews.com claimed that all domain names should be simple and easy to remember, and it seems this advice is being heeded in some quarters.

According to Vlad Titarenko, founder of ILFT.com, the firm had noticed that its customers were referring to ILoveFreeThings.com using its acronym.

"It's easy to remember, and a quick way to get to the freebie offers on the website," he stated.

"We are always listening to feedback and coming up with new ideas to improve. As our readers express their opinions, it helps us understand what their needs are."

Mr Titarenko commented that the number of site visits has increased since the new domain name was purchased, vindicating the decision.
