Sedo advises susanboyle.com price tag of $25,000

A Texas artist called Susan Boyle has been advised by online domain name auction house Sedo to sell her web address for $25,000 (£15,600), a newspaper has reported.

In 2002, Ms Boyle set up the domain name susanboyle.com to display her artwork, the Guardian noted.

But since the success of Scottish singer Susan Boyle on ITV's Britain's Got Talent, Ms Boyle has been inundated with offers to buy her domain name.

"A journalist called me and said, 'Do you know your site is getting 1,800 hits per hour?' I had no idea - I hadn't upgraded the site for a couple of years," she told the newspaper.

Sedo's director of business development Nora Nanayakkara commented that the value of the domain name depended on the sustainability of the singer from West Lothian's popularity.

Andrew Allemann, of Domain Name Wire, previously said that producers at Britain's Got Talent should have been quick to register domain names relating to Susan Boyle.
