Professional email addresses 'important for businesses'

Personalised email addresses are a great idea for businesspeople wishing to portray a more professional image, it has been suggested.
According to Niall Magennis of Computeractive, free domains – although suitable for use with friends and family – are not particularly appropriate in a corporate environment.
Fortunately, he claimed that getting hold of customised domain names is now cheaper and easier than ever.
Mr Magennis explained that domain name consultancies allow customers to search for their desired address - an important service given the many millions of internet users around the world.
He stated: "A huge number of domain names have already been registered and, as each domain name has to be unique, the majority of the obvious ones are taken."
In the event that your first choice is unavailable, the consultancy will offer suggestions for phrases or words that could be used to find an appropriate alternative, Mr Magennis added.
Last month, Patricio Robles told Econsultancy that businesses should aim to use as catchy a domain name as possible when they set up their trading website.
