Domain news: Catchy names 'important for businesses'
Date: Thursday 22nd October 2009

Businesses should aim to find as catchy a domain name as possible when they set up their trading website, it has been suggested.
Writing for Econsultancy, Patricio Robles noted that this is vitally important to build a "brilliant brand".
Working with their
domain name consultancy, firms should search for a name that is perfect for them, he suggested, looking at marketplaces and bulk sellers if necessary, or even making direct enquiries to firms which already own a domain.
Mr Robles added: "A domain name is one of the most valuable assets a business has. A great domain can not only serve as a strong digital brand, it can sometimes generate direct navigation traffic and provide search engine optimisation benefits.
He said that while most of the best domains have already been registered, this does not mean they are necessarily unavailable.
In domain news last week, Insure.com sold its web address for a record sum of $16 million (£10.1 million).
