A web address's natural Google ranking is boosted by its age.
With that in mind, it is better to register a domain name sooner, rather than later, it has been claimed.
Domain names are an essential part of search engine optimisation and, according to Lead Generation, the "older the domain name the more Google will like you".
The firm also claimed that getting the right domain name first time will ensure that a business does not have to change their web address in the future, undoing the benefits that age can bestow on a website's natural traffic.
And once a good domain name has been chosen, it is vital that a company makes the website stored at the address is search engine friendly by using simple HTML and PHP as opposed to Flash.
In terms of domain name values, Zarbakht Khan, a domain name expert at Lawdit, noted that shorter domain names usually sell for higher prices than longer ones.
