Domain name company launches .tel iPhone app
Date: Monday 23rd March 2009

Telnic, the firm behind the .tel domain name, has released a new iPhone application that lets users manage content stored at their .tel address.
The .tel domain name allows users to publish contact information online without needing to develop a website and the My .tel app for the iPhone will help to make it easier for businesses and individuals to manage and publish this data, according to Telnic.
Using the app, those with a .tel address can edit their contact details without requiring a PC or web design skills or software.
Henri Asseily, chief technology officer and chief strategist at Telnic, said: "This initial application provides the developer community with a vision of how the world's population can take advantage of a domain under their control to publish data and be found online from any device."
He went on to suggest that if all individuals were to use the app and a .tel domain name to publish their details online, web inventor Sir Tim Berners-Lee's vision concerning internet data services will become reality on "a massive scale".
The .tel domain name will officially launch tomorrow (March 24th).
