Auction to be held for Christian.com

Wednesday 26th August 2009

Christian.com looks set to become one of the biggest selling generic domain names of the year as the web address goes up for auction this October.

Rick Latona Auctions has set a date of October 27th for the domain name sale.

The auction will be held in New York City and will coincide with the TRAFFIC domain name conference.

"We are pleased to bring this amazing domain to our auction in New York," said David Clements, president of Rick Latona Auctions.

"Christian.com is an ideal name for Christian book publishers, Christian record labels, large churches, ministries and many other business models. The branding and marketing potential is limitless with a name that strikes as hard as Christian.com," he added.

Mr Clements claimed that lots of organisations had already shown interest in the web address, which is currently ranked at number two on Google for the search term Christian.

Other big sellers in the domain name world this year have been Candy.com, and OMG.com, which was bought by Yahoo.
