Online dedicated servers can 'increase protection'
Date: Friday 21st November 2008
The use of dedicated servers for security could be beneficial to data centres, it has been suggested.
In news which may interest those involved with virtual hosting, Dan Scarfe, chief executive officer for Dot Net Solutions, commented cloud services could safeguard companies from numerous potential problems.
He claimed these online dedicated servers could provide greater protection for companies than offline systems.
Mr Scarfe said many firms set up data centres and implement 24-hour security in order to maintain a presence around the building in which the information is stored.
He went on to say: "I would say it is more secure having your data up in the cloud than in your office."
Earlier this month, a
web hosting firm accused of aiding some of the world's biggest spammers was closed down.
US operator McColo was forced to shut down after the company's web provider ceased its service for the California-based business.
