Date: Thursday 30th April 2009

A new range of services and software has been launched by Microsoft for the purpose of managing a range of IT functions.
The company's general manager of management and services, Brad Anderson, demonstrated a number of new products at the tenth annual Microsoft Management Summit this week.
These included Microsoft System Center for Windows 7 deployments, the Microsoft Desktop Optimization Pack, Microsoft System Center Service Manager and System Center Online Desktop Manager.
Microsoft said that these offerings can help organisations to manage processes such as cloud computing and mobile deployments,
web hosting users may be interested to note.
"Customers want familiar tools that provide a complete view of service levels, applications, infrastructure and clients," Mr Anderson commented.
Microsoft recently announced the launch of BizTalk Server 2009, which lets companies connect disparate applications and services within their organisations.
It also unveiled Windows Server 2008 Foundation, an entry-level server platform for small businesses, earlier this month.
