Dedicated servers 'support a high level of traffic'
Date: Thursday 13th August 2009
Dedicated servers could prove useful for firms looking to support a high level of traffic, according to an expert.
HostReview's Ilham Koto has claimed that such systems can prove more beneficial than shared servers in some cases, particularly when a company's usage and security needs are high.
In addition, he called on businesses to consider a range of other factors when choosing
server specialists, such as the price of services, the reliability of hardware and their use of back-up systems.
He added: "If there is a systems, network or power failure, the last thing you want is to lose your data or to have your website go down for a long period."
Jane Shurtleff, director of marketing for Certeon, recently told The Industry Standard that firms could cut the cost of business continuity plans by using
virtual private servers.
