Dedicated servers 'can help businesses grow'

Dedicated servers can prove to be a good option for business owners seeking help with their IT from a managed hosting provider, it has been suggested.
According to industry commentator Sean Schofield, the solutions provide sound IT support for growing businesses, especially those with a significant online presence.
While he said dedicated servers may represent "overkill" for the smallest of enterprises, they are ideal for firms expecting a large volume of traffic to their sites.
Writing for Practical Ecommerce, he explained that they cost more to hire than shared or virtual private servers, but for this added cost firms gain exclusivity of use.
"Dedicated hosting involves purchasing or leasing a dedicated, physical server," Mr Schofield explained.
According to The Hosting News, dedicated server users pay outright for the technology and can use it as much or as little as they like, as opposed to being charged according to their usage.
