Cloud email 'flourishing' as cost pressures mount
Date: Wednesday 10th June 2009

Corporations are flocking to the cloud in search of a more cost-effective and reliable email system, analyst group Burton has announced.
The enterprise IT research company has averred that a fiercely competitive market is emerging as more businesses become cognisant of the benefits of moving emails over to dedicated servers hosted offsite.
Homan Farahmand, Burton Group director of consulting, said that enterprises need to be aware of the benefits and risks associated with hosted email services in order to find their ideal provider.
"Comparing offerings, whether it's hosted offerings or on-premise solutions, is difficult and depends on the individual needs of the enterprise," he explained, adding that decisions should be made with regard to the unique requirements and risk tolerance of the organisation.
Burton has also urged firms to remember that implementing business intelligence projects can provide a vital edge during this difficult and highly competitive economic environment.
