Business continuity 'no longer just an option'

Companies should no longer just regard disaster recovery plans as "an option", according to an expert.
Speaking to Newsday, Alan Berman, executive director for DRI International, claimed that having back-up services stored on dedicated servers or
shared hosting has become a fundamental part of business.
He added that many clients now regard it as vital that the firms they work with have some form of plan in place for the worst-case scenario.
"It's now become a competitive disadvantage not to have a business continuity plan," he concluded.
InTechnology recently claimed on its blog for ZDNet.co.uk that preparation is key when creating a plan for disaster recovery.
The company added that realistic objectives are a must, while plans put in place must be tested at any given opportunity as finding problems can be positive in ensuring systems work when called upon.
