WordPress updates 'make it faster to use'

Monday 29th June 2009

Blog hosting platform WordPress has announced the release of its version 2.8.1 Beta 2, which has fixed some of the problems which users experienced.

Some WordPress bloggers using Internet Explorer received an autosave error message, while uploaded error messages are now correctly reported.

WordPress recently called its latest version faster to use, which could be particularly important for businesses which have moved to the blog hosting platform to improve their brand awareness and search engine optimisation.

UK daily newspaper the Telegraph has chosen WordPress to host its blogs on its website, while Rob Fleming, writing for the Examiner, said that it is simple to use and offers thousands of themes and plugins, as well as online support.

The blogging platform said that plugin updaters in previous WordPress versions have been a success and as such, it has "decided to bring the same to themes. You can now browse the entire theme directory and install a theme with one click from the comfort of your WordPress dashboard".
