WordPress launches comment reply via email feature
Date: Friday 24th April 2009
A new feature has been launched by WordPress enabling users to reply to blog comments via email.
The option can be enabled by ensuring email notifications for comments are turned on and selecting the 'Enable sending comment replies via email' option on the settings page for discussions.
This means that those using
WordPress hosting for their blogs can send a quick reply to a comment through email rather than clicking back to their dashboard.
"When you click reply, a special WordPress email address will appear in the Sender line, matching your reply to the proper comment thread," explained Joseph Scott of WordPress in a blog post.
He added that sending this off then means that the reply is posted on the blog in question within seconds.
WordPress recently announced that its search engine had been updated to offer "instant findability" for blogs whenever a user types in a query that matches terms in their posts.
