WordPress 'a popular Web 2.0 tool for businesses'
Date: Tuesday 26th May 2009

Web 2.0 solutions such as WordPress are being used in more professional areas, a new report has noted.
The report by Frost & Sullivan stated that WordPress is no longer solely associated with consumer applications and Web 2.0 technologies are increasingly popular with small and medium-sized businesses.
Frost & Sullivan research analyst Iwona Petruczynik said workers are being forced to do more with less in the recession and technologies such as WordPress are solutions that are becoming prevalent with organisations.
"Web 2.0 solutions may be part of the cure for the recessionary headache that many European businesses are now experiencing; social networking sites, wikis and blogs," she stated.
Businesses must advise their employees on how social media such as blogging platform WordPress can be used whilst avoiding security risks and leaks of confidential information.
WordPress has announced that its 2.8 Beta 2 version is now available for download and includes some updates from its recently launched 2.8 Beta 1.
