Websites 'should get customers excited about your brand'

Businesses should design and develop their website in a way to get their customers excited about what their brand can offer, it has been suggested.

"It's all about keeping your customers on your website," said Thomas Herbert, product manager at Hostway.

It can depend what the business is selling, Mr Herbert explains, stating if the product is clothing then use a lot of close-up images of the items to allow customers to see them as clearly as possible.

"Also try and introduce them to other products," he concluded.

People intending to set up a site using a reliable web hosting provider might benefit from considering some of the points that he makes.

According to the Deloitte Christmas Survey 2008, overall spending in the UK will decrease by about seven per cent this festive season.

However, the total expenditure online for Christmas food and gifts is expected to increase by ten per cent from last year – up to an estimated £4.7 billion.
