SEO guide for Magento users launched

Web expert Joost de Valk has launched a new guide to search engine optimisation (SEO) for those using Magento hosting.

The specialist worked with fellow expert Joachim Houtman on the guide, which covers areas such as basic technical optimisation, tweaking Magento templates, duplicate content and more advanced SEO techniques.

In the guide, Mr de Valk advises Magento users to ensure they have the latest version of the e-commerce platform installed, Magento 1.2.1, and links to a blank template especially designed for those looking to ramp up their website's SEO.

"Expect more from us on the Magento SEO front as we develop more experience in the area together," Mr de Valk commented in a blog post.

According to research company eMarketer, businesses are expected to make greater use of SEO during the recession as it is likely to help them to attract new customers in a more cost-effective manner than other advertising channels.
