Newspaper website benefits from Wordpress

A website manager has revealed how he used
Wordpress hosting to improve his new employer's online offering.
Writing in his new blog, Joseph Cefoli of the Fairfield Mirror explained that he was hired primarily to redesign the newspaper's website.
He said that soon after joining in December last year, it became apparent that using the existing publishing software, it would not be possible to create a site of the desired standard.
Mr Cefoli said a number of options were discussed before the decision was made to adopt the Wordpress blog publishing application and content management system.
"By adding numerous plug-ins to enhance its functionality, it was possible to turn it into a robust site designed for a newspaper," he added.
"I'm really proud of how it turned out, and we are continually making improvements."
Back in July, WordPress announced the retirement of its 2.0.x legacy branch, some months ahead of schedule.
The decision was made after reworked security improvements were introduced to newer versions of the application.
