Mobile internet 'growing increasingly popular'

People now expect to be able to access the internet anywhere because of the development of laptops and handheld devices, it has been suggested.
The news might mean that people setting up a website with a web hosting provider should consider how their content will appear on portable devices, such as mobile phones.
Co-founder and chief strategy officer of the Cloud Niall Murphy explained how mobile and broadband is how internet users prefer their services through and this is evident with the devices that people are consuming internet provision.
He said that laptops and internet-enabled mobile phones are "creating an expectation that internet services are something that you carry with you that you expect to ubiquitously access wherever you might be."
The latest report from telecoms industry analyst Ovum stated that by 2013 there will be a 43 per cent increase in internet connection since 2013, taking the number up to 5.63 billion.
A report published by the Office of Communications said time spent on PCs and laptops has increased from 6 minutes per person per day in 2002 to 24 minutes in 2007.
