Managed services providers 'offer flexible support'
Date: Monday 5th October 2009

Managed services providers offer flexible levels of IT support to small and medium-sized businesses, it has been reported.
Writing for TMC Net, advertising specialist Raju Shanbhag said more and more enterprises have been turning to managed services during the economic downturn, driven by the need to reduce their expenditure without impacting negatively upon service levels.
He claimed that as cutting costs of IT infrastructure "gains prominence in a companys scheme of things", managed services can be "a perfect solution" for those required to downsize.
Explaining the benefits of
shared hosting, Mr Shanbhag commented: "It provides a knowledgeable IT service provider who can take care of the IT functioning of the company at a fraction of cost of having an in-house team.
"Also, the level of support that is available can change with the needs of the company."
Last month, Infostor reported that data storage costs were being squeezed as the economic downturn ensues, increasing the popularity of cloud computing.
