Magento launches Twitter Q&A service
Date: Monday 23rd March 2009
Users of
Magento hosting can now take advantage of a new service enabling them to ask questions and receive answers via Twitter.
The @ask_magento service allows users to ask other Magento users about issues relating to the e-commerce platform and is meant to be a complement to the current community forums provided by Magento.
Members of the Magento team will also monitor the feed, potentially meaning that users will be able to receive answers directly from Magento itself.
"This is going to be a great service to facilitate dialogue within the community through community questions and community answers," remarked Koby Oz of Magento in a blog post.
Twitter is a social networking site that lets users create profiles and send messages that are no longer than 140 characters each to their followers.
The microblogging service now sees more web traffic than the homepages of some of the biggest newspapers in the UK, according to Hitwise.
