Joomla CMS 'stands out' as a web-based Linux tool
Date: Friday 22nd May 2009

Joomla's content management system (CMS) has been rated as one of the top ten web-based Linux tools.
Writing for TechRepublic, Jack Wallen said that Linux is an "outstanding operating system for serving up applications".
Linux provides a variety of tools and CMSs but for him, Joomla stands out.
The United Nations, University of Harvard, Citibank intranet and Outdoor Photographer all use Joomla as their CMS.
He noted that it is easy to install and individuals who require commercial support, document management, a shopping cart, a large selection of templates and an event calendar should all choose Joomla.
Users of Joomla can soon benefit from the new Joomla Resources Directory, which will connect users of the CMS platform who offer services with those people who require them.
The official blog from Joomla has asked users for help in testing the website.
"We are looking for people who do Joomla as a business: consultants, trainers, search engine optimisation specialists, extension developers and template clubs," the blog said.
