Custom hosting news: vBulletin 'a great forum option'
Tuesday 27th October 2009
Firms seeking to host message boards on their websites may be able to benefit from the use of vBulletin, it has been suggested.
According to CenterNetworks editor Allen Stern, who has used the internet forum software for almost a decade, vBulletin is "super-robust when it comes to community management".
Writing in his blog on the site, he noted that a new version of the software vBulletin 4.0 is being launched soon, news which may interest shared hosting users considering establishing a forum.
"There are some new features including the ability to create a blog post or article from a forum comment," he explained.
Mr Stern claimed that screenshots will be cleaner than on previous versions, while he stressed that vBulletin continues to get "high marks" for customer service.
He added: "vBulletin is one of the best examples of local software and revenue models out there... I've always been happy with it. I've never worried going to sleep when using vBulletin."
In other recent custom hosting news, Joomla is increasingly growing in popularity, it has been claimed.
BestJoomlaDesign.com said the content management system allows businesses using a web hosting provider to create "attractive" and "quality" websites.
