Mr Dougherty went on to note that bloggers have numerous options when it comes to choosing the best platform, with WordPress being one of the main customisable blogging products available.

Those looking for a WordPress hosting provider should ensure that the company can support PHP 4.3 or higher and MySQL 4.0 or higher, according to guidelines from WordPress.

It also says that a bonus extra would be the ability to support Apache or Litespeed, although this is not a necessary requirement.
