Set up email in Outlook 2000

  1. Open Outlook and click on the “Tools” menu option at the top of the screen. Choose the “E-mail Accounts…” menu option from there.
  2. Choose the “Add a new e-mail account” radio button and then click on the “Next” button.
  3. Choose either the “POP3″ radio button on the next screen and then click on the “Next” button..
  4. In the “Your Name” field, enter your full name.
  5. In the “E-mail Address” field, enter your full e-mail address.
  6. Next the “Incoming mail server” label, enter “mail.globalgold.co.uk”.
  7. Then next to the “Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)" add "smtp.globalgold.co.uk".
  8. Next to the “User Name” field, this is usually the email address but with a dot instead of an @. i.e. joe@joebloggs.com would be joe.joebloggs.com
  9. In the password field, enter your password.
  10. You’re not quite done yet. Next, click on the “More Settings” button on the lower-right-hand side of the screen.
  11. Click on the “Outgoing Server” tab.
  12. Click within the checkbox next to the “My outgoing server (SMTP) requires SMTP” label.
  13. The radio button that’s next to the “Use same settings as my incoming mail server” label should automatically be selected. Leave this value alone and then click on the “OK” button.
  14. You should now be back at the “E-mail Accounts” screen. Test your account settings by clicking on the “Test Account Settings” button.
