Set up Dial-Up Internet Access

Global Gold have recently introduced Dial-up internet access which allows you to connect to the web at up to 56kbps or through ISDN at 64kbps. To setup your account, you will need to phone us first and get a username and password created for your own personal use.

Our Dial-Up is suitable for both business and personal use, although each user must have their own unique username and password.

To set up your Global Gold Internet Access on a Windows PC: - From your desktop go to: My Computer > Control Panel > Network and Dial-up Connections - Double click on the 'Make New Connection' icon - You may have 2 windows come up, one of which asks for your current location. If you do not get this window, do not worry as it has already been set. If you do, fill it out to the best of your ability. - The other window is called the 'Network Connection Wizard'. Click the 'Next >' button to continue. - Select the option on the next screen which says 'Dial-up to the internet' and click 'Next >' - You will then be given a further 3 options of how you want the account set up. Select 'I want to set-up my internet connection manually' and click 'Next >'. - Then select on the next screen 'I connect through a phone line and a modem', and select 'Next >' once again.  You will then be asked for the ISP's dial-up number. In the 'Area Code' field, type '0845' and '638 9313' as the 'Telephone Number'. - Make sure that 'United Kingdom' and 'Use Area Code' are selected as well. - The next screen asks for your username and password.   If you have not been given these details by Global Gold then feel free to use gg@ggn as the username and pass as the password. - Lastly, just type in 'Global Gold Internet Access' as the 'Connection Name'. - It may additionally ask whether you want to setup an email address, reply 'No' if this appears. This should now create a new icon in the 'Make A New Connection' folder, called 'Global Gold Internet Access'. Double click it and click 'Connect' to access the internet. To disconnect from the internet, right-click on the 2 computer screen icons in the bottom right of you screen, and select 'Disconnect'.
