Transferring files from your PC to your web space using SmartFTP
This article shows you how to set up and use the SmartFTP program to upload/download files to/from your web space. The SmartFTP program is not free, but you can get a 30 day evaluation copy - if you are looking for a free FTP client we would recommend FileZilla.
To get started you will need Smart FTP which you can download from www.smartftp.com
1. Once downloaded open the install file and follow the steps to install it.
2. Then open Smart ftp by going to Start - all programs - Smart FTP client.
3. Once opened go to file - new local browser, this opens a panel where you can easily find, drag and drop your web files to your ftp space.
4. Next we need to open a new remote browser by going to file - new remote browser.
5. In the box make sure it is set to "normal FTP" then enter the host as provided to you by Global Gold, login type is "Username and Password", then enter your ftp username and password. And click OK.
6. This will then log you into your ftp account where you can make the necessary uploads.
7. To upload and download files simply drag and drop between your computer and the ftp space.
