System Administration/Third Line Support Position
We are a fast innovative web hosting company based on the Essex/Hertfordshire border seeking a highly proficient and motivated IT Professional. This role is ideal for a for an experienced second or third line support engineer looking for the next step. The candidate requires a proven background in implementing and/or maintaining Linux servers and network infrastructures.
Essential Requirements
- 3 or 4 years experience of Redhat/CentOS/Fedora Linux
- 2 or 3 years experience on virtualisation software, either VMware or Xen
- Experience in supporting web and email linux environments
- A strong understanding of networks including TCP/IP
- Driving license and access to a car
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal
Desired Requirements
- Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHEL)
- Security standards (PCI-DSS preferred)
- 2 or 3 years experience in a web hosting or datacentre environment
- Experience supporting environments with large (100) numbers of servers
- Advanced Bash Scripting, basic Perl and PHP scripting
- 2 or 3 years experience of Cisco internet networking including BGP and OSPF
- Strong understanding of the Internet including public IP addressing, DNS and domain.
Salary depending on ability and experience. This role does involve reacting to service failures outside of normal office hours.
